Medical School Applicant Testimonials
I cannot recommend Liz enough. Working with her completely changed my college trajectory in the best way. At a big school like Cornell University, it is so easy to feel overwhelmed, but she made what felt like really stressful, complicated processes—especially figuring out my career path—feel manageable and clear. She helped me find and connect with the right resources and completely transform how I approached studying.
She is incredibly strategic in how she guides you—everything we did had a purpose. She helped me think through decisions in a way I never would have on my own, and with her support, I was able to land a consulting job after graduation.
She continued to be such an important mentor when I was applying to medical school. The process can feel overwhelming, but Liz broke it down step by step and helped me stay organized and confident throughout. Because of her guidance, I was accepted into multiple medical schools.
One of the things that really stands out about Liz is how strong she is in real time—she is an amazing interviewer and incredibly quick on her feet. She helped me develop those same skills, which made a huge difference in both interviews and other high-pressure situations.
Beyond all of that, she is genuinely kind, patient, and deeply invested in her students. You truly feel like you have someone in your corner.
I honestly cannot recommend her enough—any student would be so lucky to work with her.

Liz was a phenomenal source of support during my applications to medical school. She has an exceptional eye for detail and ensuring that written responses are effective yet concise. With Liz's guidance, I learned how to show vs. tell and this has served me well in my writing as a current medical student. She was also an incredible resource as I practiced and polished my interview responses—I went into my medical school interviews feeling calm and confident because of our practice sessions. All throughout the process, Liz was my cheerleader and it truly meant so much for me to have someone who was so invested in my success. Even now, Liz remains a friend and mentor and it is difficult for me to adequately express how thankful I am for her help in words. I would highly recommend Liz for any application-related guidance; she will work tirelessly with you to help you put together an application that is representative of the best possible version of yourself.

I was very grateful to have worked with Liz throughout college and when applying to medical school. What started as resume‑crafting sessions and course planning turned into months of help with my medical school application. She was an integral part to my successes. She knew how to make my application strong without losing my authenticity, which gave me confidence when applying.
After my first meeting with Liz, I learned very quickly she is the definition of someone who is in your corner. She is supportive of your goals and knows how to help you take the right steps to achieve them. Her responsiveness and accessibility throughout the process were something I was thankful to have. Between many meetings revising my application essays to mock interview preparation, she highlighted what was working, what needed to change, and how we could make it better. She doesn’t just show up for you, she thrives being the person who shows up for you.

Law School Applicant Testimonials
I had the pleasure of working with Liz for approximately two years. She provided insightful advice on which classes I should take within my major, considering both my interests and my ultimate goals of attending a top law school; she always made her suggestions based on what was best for me.
Liz continued to be an excellent advisor as I progressed through college. When I was not doing as well as I hoped to in one of my classes, Liz helped me weigh the pros and cons of whether or not I should drop the class. In general, Liz was just very easy to confide in, regarding both my successes and fears, and was always very understanding.
The most time I spent with Liz was when I was applying to law schools, and Liz helped significantly in various ways. She helped me curate a list of schools that contained a mix of safeties, targets, and reaches that all made sense given my interests in the law and my scores. As I was drafting application materials for my schools, I would run them by Liz for her review and feedback. She was incredibly responsive, usually looking over the essays within the next day or two and was very accessible to meet. When we met, she was blunt, which I appreciated, directly pointing to both my strengths and where I could improve my writing. With the help of Liz, I was able to get into a T-14 law school with below-median numbers.
Ultimately, I credit Liz for easing my transition. She is incredibly kind and understanding, invested in helping her students achieve their goals. I highly recommend her services.

I highly recommend Liz for anyone applying to law school. I met Liz my junior year of college when I was starting to apply, and she helped me navigate the entire process, from strategizing the LSAT to reviewing my personal statement to negotiating scholarship offers. With Liz's help, I was able to gain admission to schools like Columbia, Boston University, and Berkeley, the latter of which I currently attend on a half-tuition scholarship.
Liz was particularly helpful with crafting my personal statements and supplements. She gives actionable feedback that respects a student's voice while strengthening any weak points. She understands what law school admissions officers are looking for, and she is incredibly effective at getting students to clearly articulate why they want to go to law school. I often leaned on Liz when I hit a writer's block because she always knew exactly how to help me push through it. Whether it was asking the right prompting questions, helping me reframe my ideas, or offering fresh perspectives, she consistently got my momentum back on track. Working with her not only improved my essays but also gave me confidence in my final applications.
Liz embodies what every admissions counselor should be: positive, strategic, and deeply knowledgeable about the application process. Liz actively listens to her students and provides an encouraging and realistic perspective during a particularly stressful process. When she worked at Cornell, I recommended her to every pre-law student I met, and I did so with the confidence that they would receive the highest level of care, expertise, and guidance possible. Thank you, Liz!

Career & College Success Testimonials
Liz was my biggest advocate, mentor, and connector throughout my recruitment processes from freshman to sophomore year and beyond. From the start, she was a constant, reliable resource, always willing to help navigate decisions, set clear goals, and execute them. She made each transition feel seamless and played a key role in shaping both academic and career direction. I'm grateful for her support and the relationship we've built over the years.

Among Liz Hartman’s many wonderful qualities, her devotion to student success is the one that shines brightest, and what sets her apart is how she expresses it. Liz meets students where they are, without imposition, and with a rare attentiveness to what they actually need in a given moment. She recognized when I needed support and personal resources rather than career advice, and she responded accordingly. Her holistic approach to student well being isn’t incidental to her advising but rather the foundation of it.
As students, we often arrive knowing what we want but not how to get there. Liz does both: she helps you clarify what it is you truly want and then reframes the path forward in a way that feels achievable for our circumstances. She has a gift for helping you articulate your own story and align it meaningfully with your goals and interests. She highly values academic readiness and achievement but understands that it rests on the prior condition that a student’s well being is properly supported.
Working with Liz left me with a clearer sense about my future direction and more deliberate in how I think about getting there. She is the kind of advisor whose impact reaches well beyond the office.

As a first-generation, low-income student at an Ivy League, Liz Hartman was a guiding light. With her, my imposter syndrome withered away as she made me feel there was no "dumb" question I could ask, and made me feel confident in pursuing my ambitions post-grad. Once I graduated from such a rigorous institution like Cornell, I was struggling to harness my strengths and know how to highlight my accomplishments to potential recruiters. Through months of job fairs, career networking, and job applications and interviews, Liz was there to coach me on how to leverage my personal uniqueness to be a strong candidate. Job searching was an arduous process, and Liz's support helped me avoid burn-out; instead, I am stronger and more capable to confront the uncertainty that comes with the early-career journey because of her!
